We're a custom home builder based in Humble, Texas, building for working families across the greater Houston area. Most of the things that go wrong on a custom build aren't construction problems. They're project problems: a budget that moves after you sign, a slow answer when you have a question, a job that stalls halfway through. We built Wonderview to run a custom home the way a good project manager runs any job, so the home gets built, and you always know where things stand.

Real Estate Construction and Operations Management
1990s
Unpaid (and unskilled) labor
My first job in the trades was as an unpaid laborer on my father's building sites. Not a skilled laborer yet. That came later.
2006
Chasing the dream
Bachelor's in engineering from Ohio University (go Bobcats). Then I moved to Denver to chase a career in professional snowmobiling.
2007 to 2018
A remodeling habit and a day job
The professional snowmobiling career didn't pan out. But I love working on homes, so I started a remodeling and real estate business on the side while working as an operations manager for a growing energy company.
2019 to 2023
Managing $13M in builds
I partnered with an excellent custom home-building company in Montgomery, TX, and managed all residential and commercial operations. Twenty-six projects and thirteen million dollars in construction value across residential, commercial, and spec builds.

Wonderview is founded
Started as a residential construction and home services company.

Who Runs It
Nick Bassarab
Wonderview is built this way because of the person who started it. Nick Bassarab is a second-generation builder who grew up on his father's job sites, and before launching Wonderview he ran builds for a Houston building company as their operations and project manager. He managed twenty-six projects worth thirteen million dollars in construction value, covering the budgeting, coordination, and building across residential, commercial, and spec work.
Nick started Wonderview to put that discipline behind every home we take on, and he still runs every project from the first sit-down through the warranty walk-through.
How We Build
The Budget Stays in the Open and Someone Stays Responsible
A Wonderview build comes down to two things most custom homes are missing. The first is a budget you can see. We price the work line by line before you sign, and that number holds once the job starts. When something changes, you hear about it before it happens, not on the final invoice.
The second is that one person owns the whole project. The same person tracking your budget is on the job site checking that the framing is square and the finishes are right. You're not chasing a salesman who handed you off to a crew you never met. You work with the person responsible for getting your home built.
We're not trying to be the biggest custom home builder in Houston. We want to be the one that provides the most customer value by making your dollars stretch as far as possible and making your building experience an enjoyable one.
